This type of page sculpting is no longer recommended by Google according to this post from Googles own Spam Man: http://www.mattcutts.com/blog/pagerank-sculpting/. 

 Basically, your page rank is divided up among all of your links, no and dofollow alike, then the dofollow links pass their share, and the juice apportioned to the nofollow links is simply lost.  If you leave the dofollow on, some of that juice will be passed through your copyright page, etc, and back to your homepage, increasing your overall pageranks.</description>
